Dr. Peter Romano, born and raised in Westchester, comes to Sleepy Hollow for the next big step in his career. He is excited to continue his personalized and thoughtful style of medicine at his new home of Sleepy Hollow Animal Hospital.
Dr. Romano grew up in White Plains and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Manhattan College in the Bronx. After a short stint as a veterinary assistant, he went on to attend Cornell University where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 2007.
After graduation, he completed a small animal-focused internship at Long Island Veterinary Specialists Referral and Emergency Hospital in Plainview, New York, where he received advanced training in both medical and surgical patient care. While internships are not required
in veterinary medicine like they are in human medicine, Dr. Romano thought it was paramount that he receive additional training to see his brand of veterinary medicine come to fruition.
Since the completion of his internship in 2008, Dr. Romano has been serving the pets and
clients of Westchester County. He has learned that the citizens of this county consider their pets
a part of the family and seek out the highest quality of care. Lucky for Dr. Romano, this is how
he has always felt about all pets and because of these shared beliefs, he has truly enjoyed his
time serving the needs of his clients and their pets.
Dr. Romano’s focused areas of interest are internal medicine and preventative medicine.
He lives in Stamford with his wife, also a veterinarian, his two young children, and his two cats,
Rashers and Princess Leia. In his spare time, Dr. Romano likes to root for the Yankees, go to
the gym, cook Italian food (or any food with plenty of garlic!), and explore New York City
Dr. Brian J. Green, a graduate of the University of Liege in Belgium, has been serving the Tarrytowns, Irvington, Ossining, Briarcliff, Pleasantville and surrounding areas since 1981. He completed postdoctoral training in veterinary medicine and surgery as an intern at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in Manhattan, published a groundbreaking article in a national veterinary journal, was an adjunct professor of veterinary physiology at Mercy College, and appears in the first volume of Who's Who in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Green was named one of Westchester County's "Top Vets" by his colleagues, one of only 60 veterinarians and less than a dozen general practitioners, to be so honored, in 2011, 2012 and 2013, as published in Westchester Magazine. Personal attention and compassion are Dr. Green's trademark, and the foundation of Sleepy Hollow Animal Hospital.
Dr. Green is an active member in the AVMA, the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) in which Sleepy Hollow Animal Hospital is also certified, the Westchester Rockland Veterinary Medical Association, and has sat on the executive board of two charities providing Service Dogs to disabled individuals with a focus on wounded Veterans.
Dr. Green is very active in the community, especially sponsoring youth sports, supporting the schools, local charities, village beautification projects, giving animal hospital tours to youth organizations, and offering his services at reduced fees to all active service men and women and first responders, as well as caring for the local K9 Corps with no expense to the village. He has written helpful articles in local publications, and regularly posts advice on pet care on social media sites.
He is happily married to his bride of over 20 years, and has two teenage sons and a houseful of dogs and cats.
Dr. Green and his staff are knowledgeable and compassionate. Dr. Green is an excellent diagnostician who has, for over 35 years, given my pets the best veterinary care possible. I would not entrust the care of my companion animals to anyone else.
