Dr. Leigh Gallegos

Dr. Gallegos graduated from Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. She lived and worked as a large and small animal doctor for a few years in south central Missouri before returning to KSU to teach and research spinal cord injury in cats. Since 2001 Dr. Leigh has worked in Southern California as a small animal doctor in emergency and critical care and in general practice. Her love and devotion to cats led her to become the owner of Riverside Cat Hospital in 2015. In her free time Dr. Leigh enjoys cooking and gardening, as well as reading and cross-stitch.

Elizabeth (Veterinary Assistant)

Elizabeth started working at Riverside Cat Hospital in 2015 and loves caring for our feline patients. Elizabeth has always had a love for animals. In 2013, she graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys reading, hiking, watching movies, and spending time with her family and friends.

Vanessa (Veterinary Assistant)

Vanessa started as a volunteer in May of 2015. She was then hired as a veterinary assistant. Vanessa obtained her bachelor's degree in Business Economics from the University of California, Riverside in 2015. She plans in expanding her education in becoming a Veterinarian. She would like to work with cats, dogs, and exotic animals. Vanessa likes to spend time doing anything that has to do with the outdoors, watching movies, also spending time with family and friends.

Louise (Animal Care Giver)

Louise started working at Riverside Cat Hospital in 2015 as a volunteer. A position opened up soon after and she was offered the job as part time animal care giver. Prior to coming to Riverside Cat Hospital, Louise was an RN working full time at Loma Linda University Medical Center as a Home Care Nurse. She retired from the Medical Center in 2013, but by 2015 she was tired of being retired! She has 6 grown children, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great grandsons. While raising her children, she became a school librarian and later became a professional pilot. Louise also ran a cat rescue out of her home in Highland and placed many kitties in forever homes. Her specialties were newborns, sick, and injured kittens. Louise has loved all of her vast experiences, especially her time spent with felines. She enjoys being able to assist her coworkers, clients, patients, and boarders at Riverside Cat Hospital.
