Tim Hassinger DVM (Dr. H) Owner/Manager of Mountain View Animal Hospital

Colorado State University Veterinary School – Graduated in 1994

Undergraduate -- BS Biology graduated 1987 from the University of Alaska Anchorage

I grew up on a farm in Minnesota, so have always been around animals, but it was not until I began training and racing sled dogs in Alaska that I thought about becoming a veterinarian. I started undergraduate training in 1982 at the age of 31 and graduated from veterinary school at the age of 43. I got started late. Before then, I had over fifty jobs, mostly involving construction and the Alaskan pipeline. Going to veterinary school was one of the best decisions I ever made.

My wife Kris is also a veterinarian (an exceptionally good one). I have two children, Nicolas and Mikayla. You can imagine that two veterinarians would have many pets. We have dogs, cats, and horses. Elle, a Jack Russell Terrier and Tazer, a black lab, make up our dog population. Cats are represented by Naboo, a Bengal cat and Stink Mountain Gate our feral kitten that is now 8 years old and neurotic. We also have 4 horses, Kobuk a Quarterhorse paint, 3 Paso Finos, Diaz a buckskin, Timbre a paint, and Dixie a palomino and two welsh cross ponies: Pistol Pete and Moonstone.

My enjoyment in veterinary medicine comes from the people and pets that I get to see every day. I like to help pets when they are well and when they are sick. I like to get to know who my clients are, what their stories are in addition to helping their pets. I like both ends of the leash.

I am proud of Mountain View Animal Hospital. We are fortunate to have a first rate facility, first rate doctors and a first rate staff.
