October is Adopt a Dog Month in Parrish FL! With dogs in the local shelters and on the streets, Adopt a Dog month encourages local families to take a dog in need into their home. It's estimated that 3-4 million animals are euthanized in shelters every year, but you can help reduce this tragic number by adopting a dog, or doing your part to prevent more animals from entering the shelter.
There are many ways that you can celebrate dog adoption month! Below are just a few:
If you do adopt a dog, one of the first things that you'll want to do is take your dog to the vet. At Dr. Nina's Animal Hospital, we see newly adopted dogs on a regular basis. We'll test your pet's blood and feces, listen to your pet's breathing and check your pet for signs of illness or disease. If your dog needs any vaccines, we'll give your pet shots.
