Dr. Hicks was born in Houston, Texas. He grew up in Alvin, playing sandlot baseball with Nolan Ryan. Dr. Hicks graduated from Alvin High School in 1962. He received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 1968. Dr. Hicks operated a veterinary clinic specializing in equine medicine from 1968 to 1988. He treated both large and small animals until he opened Old Town Animal Hospital in Katy, Texas, in 1997.
Dr. Steve Chen is a 2003 graduate from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. He was born in Taiwan and he is a third generation veterinarian. Dr. Chen served as the Chief of Staff at Banfield Pet Hospital of Katy for almost 10 years before joining Brixton. He has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and ultrasound. He has four Shih Tzu, one Yorkshire Terrier and a German Shepherd Dog, but he loves cats, too. Dr. Chen enjoys watching sporting events such as basketball, tennis and college football. He loves to play tennis and basketball at his leisure time as well. Dr. Chen is married and is expecting his first child in September.
Dr. Chiang graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Horticulture from National Taiwan University and studied Life Sciences at Colorado State University. He has worked in veterinary medicine for almost 6 years. Dr. Chiang's special interest is in Internal Medicine cases. He is proficient in 4 languages: Mandarin, Taiwanese, Cantonese and English. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children.
Dr. Chea is a new graduate from the Royal Veterinary College in London. She completed her Bachelors at Centenary College in Shreveport, LA and her Masters in Animal Behavior at Queen's University in Belfast, Ireland. She is a New Orleans born and raised, and it was her life long dream to become a veterinarian. She moved here to Katy to join the Brixton Pet Health family in 2015. In her free time, she loves to run, travel, and spend time with her puppy Miley (pictured).
Heather has been involved in multiple facets of the pet care industry for approximately 20 years, spanning from veterinary, boarding, retail, wildlife rehab and education with schools, non-profit, private- and corporate-owned organizations. She received a Bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State University, emphasis in Management, in 2002. Heather is the Committee Chairperson for aniMeals on Wheels, a supplemental pet food program, funded through Interfaith Ministries of Greater Houston's Meals on Wheels division (a United Way organization). This charity was founded so that homebound seniors would not feel compelled to share their limited food and resources with their four-legged friends. If you are interested in donating your time or pet food, please do not hesistate to reach our to her! Heather has an Australian Shepherd, Ginger, who loves to attend Doggy Day Camp, as well as two cats, Two and Motley, who enjoy sleeping and playing with the laser. Andrea has worked with Best Friends Pet Care in multiple positions in the past including Animal Care Technician, Customer Service Representative, and Veterinary Technician. Her love for animals started at an early age participating in competitive barrel racing at age six. Her enthusiasm for horses continued when she worked as a Horse Caretaker at D.D. Ranch outside of Austin for 3 years. Andrea received her Bachelor¹s degree in Political Science from The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. She is a firm believer and advocate for canine interactional therapy and therapeutic riding. In her spare time she enjoys playing tennis with her two over sized Great Pyrenees pups, Moe and Lilly.
Deborah has worked as a Veterinary Technician for almost 25 years. She has always had a love for animals and believes that the animal/human bond is an amazing thing. Providing the best patient care and making sure her pet parents are being cared for is the best feeling. She is originally from Chandler, Arizona. Deborah moved to Texas in 2010 and has made this beautiful state her home. She lives in the country and wouldn't trade it for the world. Deborah has 2 wonderful children that are grown, and a Mini Aussie that is adorable.
Joyce is a Veterinary Technician and has been working with animals ever sine she was 18. She graduated from Houston Community College with her Associates Degree in Science. Prior to working at Brixton Pet Health, Joyce worked at CAP (Citizens for Animal Protection) where she now volunteers, fosters, and photographs. In her free time, she loves going on photography adventures and spending time with her 4 dogs, 1 cat, and 25 fish. She is pictured with Raven.
April's love for animals started out at an early age growing up on a farm and raising “type of animals” and now working with pet here at Brixton April gets to do what she loves each day. She has four dogs of her own at home and in her free time April likes to spend quality time with her two kids and husband. She is pictured with Chloe.
Ke’ona has been with Brixton Pet Health since its grand opening in 2015 and dogs are her passion. She has a BS Animal Science from Alcorn State University and is currently working on her Master’s. She has dedicated her life to advocating for misunderstood bully breed dogs and has three wonderful dog children of her own. Jesus (Hay-suess) is an extremely spoiled Lhasa Apso, Gatsby the Jack Russell is such a little gentleman, and Fat Amy is an American Pit-bull Terrier disguised as a gigantic ball of fun. She is pictured with all three of her dog children.
Bianca has a never-ending love for animals; including her own two dogs Beck and Jacob. She aspires to be an educator and advocate for pets, as she has a deep passion for finding pets' fur-ever homes. She is pictured with Jacob.
Michelle is a Dallas native who moved to Houston in August 2015 with her cat Dom and lab mix Riley. She graduated from Texas State University in 2013 with a degree in Wildlife Biology. Michelle's lifelong goal is to travel the world and do conservation work with large cats overseas. She is pictured with her cat, Dom.
