Microchip Identification

A microchip is a permanent form of identification that can be used to find the owners of lost pets.  The chip is approximately the size of a grain of rice and is implanted into a pet using a single-use syringe. The microchip contains a unique serial number that can be read using a radio frequency scanner. Once the serial number has been detected and read by the scanner, the pet can be traced to its owner and reunited.

At Adobe Animal Hospital, we use the HomeAgain™  microchip, an ISO-compliant microchip system for companion animals available at animal shelters and veterinarians' offices in the United States. Using ISO-compliant technology safeguards pets and helps increase the chance that the pet will be reunited should it ever become lost.  We highly recommend that all of your pets be implanted with a HomeAgain™ microchip.
